The shop tells me that two of my usb pens are not working and so cannot scan. One is 2 gb with a lot of 3d .skp files on it from google sketchup - the same company that owns google earth and maps - the other 8 gb. What doth that mean to me? Time to let everyone know that the flash cards that are inside the plastic cases can be retrieved, you just take them out* and put them into new cases. (* look this up first).

It doesn't mean anything to me whatsoever, I'll just re-download the skp files that I want, it will be a good exercise in memory.

Usb pens are very good but they can become bent, metal end wise, in particular if the usb slot in the computer is hard to get to, which some of the ones I have used have been. Perhaps it is time to change to something else.
